Landings Data

Landings Data

In fisheries management, the term “landings” refers to the volume of seafood caught at sea and brought to port (landed). Landings data are a good indicator of the health of the resource, as well as a useful barometer of the industry’s condition. The Southern Shrimp Alliance has worked with the Fishery Monitoring Branch of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Fisheries’ Southeast Fisheries Science Center, along with state governments to improve the accuracy and reliability of reported data. The Southern Shrimp Alliance publishes regular reports regarding landings in historical contexts.
