Below are the dates and locations for the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council Public Hearing schedule for Shrimp Amendment 17A. This amendment addresses the continued moratorium on shrimp permits on vessels that fish in the Gulf of Mexico. This amendment will determine if the shrimp industry will renew the current ten year moratorium on permits for another ten years, make the moratorium permanent or not renew and have the industry revert back to open access. Please review the dates and location of these hearings and plan to attend the closest one in your area. Your attendance and opinion on this amendment is vitally important for helping shape what the shrimp industry should look like in the future.
All meetings begin at 6:00 pm local time and end no later than 9:00 pm local time.
