The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) has issued questionnaires and the schedule for the final phase of the Five-Year Sunset Reviews of the antidumping duty orders on certain frozen warmwater shrimp from Brazil, China, India, Thailand, and Vietnam.
In the Sunset Reviews, the ITC will determine whether the removal of antidumping duties will likely lead to the continuation or recurrence of material injury to the domestic shrimp industry. The ITC’s review will focus principally on information received in response to questionnaires that are due back to the agency on December 28, 2016.
- U.S. shrimp fishermen/U.S. shrimp farmers;
- U.S. shrimp processors;
- U.S. shrimp purchasers;
- U.S. shrimp importers; and
- Foreign shrimp producers

The Commission has requested that questionnaires be completed and submitted electronically to the ITC in MS Word format following the instructions provided in the questionnaires.
The Southern Shrimp Alliance encourages all members of the domestic shrimp industry to complete the relevant questionnaire and submit this information to the ITC for the agency’s consideration in the sunset reviews.
On November 8 th, the Federal Register published a scheduling notice from the ITC indicating that the agency intends to hold a public hearing in connection with the sunset reviews at 9:30 am on March 16, 2017 in Washington D.C. In addition, the ITC indicated that written statements of information pertinent to the sunset review are due no later than March 27, 2017. The ITC’s sunset review proceedings will end no later than May 25, 2017.
